We took the ferry a little farther upriver and ended our afternoon in Khao San. This neighborhood is popular with tourists and backpackers. There is a large outdoor market. We were craving ice cream because of the heat. We couldn't find any but did stop for a mixed fruit shake at a street vendor. I've never tasted something this refreshing in my whole life! Delicious!
We browsed some of the market stalls, stopped for an iced coffee at a sidewalk bar and then took the ferry back downriver.
